Making a Ghost Ring Sight

The Partridge sight and the diopter sight that come on the 2240 are not always the best for fast acquisition. The Ghost Sight that is popular with shotgunners is a viable option for the 2240.

Above is one possible sight picture for your 2240.

The factory diopter option is good for target shooting with a stock attached.

The Ghost Ring is created by drilling out the diopter to the size that best suits your vision and your shooting requirements.

All things being equal, and with your focus on the front post, the rear Ghost Sight acts a guide for your point of aim and allows for a fast target acquisition.

This photo is meant to give you a perspective of a 15/64 drill out compared to the factory drilling. I also painted the sight flat black to reduce glare and to cover the shine left by drilling.

You do need a 0 or 00 Phillips screw driver to remove the sight and you do need to be very gentle while screwing into the plastic sight body. A bit of silicone or other glue can be used to repair the hole if it gets stripped out.
